FRANKFURT, Germany, September 8, 2026 – Hankook & Company Group will participate in Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, from September 8 to 12, bringing together its automotive battery and thermal management businesses for the European aftermarket.

First held in 1971 and taking place every two years, Automechanika Frankfurt is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for the automotive aftermarket, bringing together companies and industry professionals across automotive parts, equipment and services.

At this year’s event, the Energy Solution (ES) Business Headquarters of Hankook & Company Co., Ltd., the operating holding company of Hankook & Company Group, and Hanon Systems, a global automotive thermal energy management solutions company, are jointly exhibiting under the Hankook brand.

The Frankfurt exhibition marks the Group companies’ second joint aftermarket exhibition under the Hankook brand, following AAPEX 2025 in Las Vegas last November. Building on the Hankook brand’s established presence in the European tire market, the Group is extending its aftermarket offering across automotive batteries and thermal management solutions while creating new opportunities to engage with customers and partners in Europe.

Hankook Battery Expands European Aftermarket Presence

Hankook & Company’s ES Business Headquarters will showcase a broad range of premium automotive batteries under the Hankook brand, including AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat), EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) and MF (Maintenance Free) batteries featuring the company’s latest lead-acid battery technologies.

Hankook & Company has continued to strengthen its foundation for growth in the European battery market since establishing its German subsidiary in Frankfurt and a logistics base in Hamburg in 2022.

Demand for high-performance 12V batteries, including AGM and EFB batteries, continues to grow in Europe, driven by an aging vehicle parc and the increasing adoption of start-stop and hybrid vehicles. Against this backdrop, Hankook & Company plans to further build brand awareness and customer confidence in the European automotive aftermarket by leveraging the strength of the Hankook brand, which has established a strong presence as an OE tire supplier to premium European automakers.

Hankook & Company’s AGM batteries are optimized for start-stop and electric vehicles, offering up to four times longer service life than conventional MF batteries, along with enhanced durability. They are designed to provide a stable power supply even in vehicles with high electrical loads from advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), high-performance infotainment systems and other electronic features, addressing the diverse requirements of the European market for high-quality, technologically advanced products.

Hankook & Company also has a diversified manufacturing footprint with production bases in Korea and the United States. This enables the company to respond flexibly to changes in the European trade and regulatory environment affecting automotive parts from China, while supporting efficient supply of premium battery products to the European market through a stable supply chain and strong product quality.

Hanon Systems Brings OE Thermal Management Expertise to the Aftermarket

Hanon Systems is presenting its aftermarket portfolio under the message “Driven by OE Expertise,” bringing the thermal management capabilities and experience developed through its global OE business to aftermarket customers.

The company announced plans to further develop its global aftermarket business with the launch of a dedicated Aftermarket page on its website on August 28. At Automechanika Frankfurt, Hanon Systems is bringing this strategy directly to European customers and partners, presenting its product portfolio and approach to the aftermarket in greater detail.

Hanon Systems supplies a broad range of thermal management systems and components to global automakers, with capabilities spanning HVAC, compressors, powertrain cooling, heat exchangers, fluid transport and electronics. Europe represents more than 35 percent of the company’s global revenue and is its largest regional market.

As vehicles remain on the road longer and powertrain technologies continue to diversify, thermal management requirements in the aftermarket are also evolving. Hanon Systems plans to apply the technology and experience developed through its OE business to provide aftermarket customers with a broader range of thermal management products and support.

The aftermarket business also provides an opportunity to develop tangible business synergies within Hankook & Company Group. While Hanon Systems brings decades of experience in automotive thermal management, Hankook Tire & Technology has built extensive experience in the European replacement tire market, including distribution, dealer networks, brand management and product portfolio operations.

By bringing together these complementary capabilities, Hanon Systems plans to further develop its aftermarket business in Europe and other global markets. The initiative represents one of the areas where business synergies are beginning to take shape following Hanon Systems’ integration into Hankook & Company Group.
