Model Solution, a subsidiary of Hankook & Company Group (formerly Hankook Tire Group), will participate in the 21st Seoul Design Festival which will be held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, from December 20 through 23. At the event, the company will showcase its globally renowned CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) technology.
Seoul Design Festival is the largest design exhibition in Korea where designers and companies from all over the world gather to showcase global design trends. Since its first opening in 2002, the event has become a major destination for the Korean design industry with about two thousand brands and five thousand designers participating each year.
At the 21st Seoul Design Festival, Model Solution will set up a dedicated space to showcase its global portfolio and CMF resources that the company has accumulated over the years. Model Solution will also display its CMF samples that attracted continuous investment and research, while providing designers with new ideas and inspiration. In addition, it will exhibit samples that provide a direct experience of eco-friendly materials and release its own CMF application through which the visitors can easily check design information with QR codes.
In particular, Mode Solution will present the results of the Master CMF Trend project in collaboration with the world-renowned design studio, Chris Lefteri Design. Model Solution has been leading the global prototype industry by selecting one theme every year with Chris Lefteri Design, introducing the latest design trend insights to the industry since 2020.
Under the theme, Sustainability, the company in 2023 plans to continue the Master CMF Trend project, this time adding the function that could check the materials of the designs, taking a step further from prototype manufacturing to providing sustainability-related solutions.
Furthermore, through the award-winning corporate-academic cooperation program in MOA (Model One Award) with the students from Hongik University’s School of Industrial Design as well as first-year results from the CMF Design Core Technology Development Project organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP), Model Solution once again proved its innovative total manufacturing solution technology capabilities.
The exhibition booth formed in collaboration with the popular furniture brand ‘Builddweller’ provides an Infinity Mirror space using light and an interactive space where infographics can be made through wool, adding fun for the visitors.
Model Solution is developing unrivaled competitiveness in the global prototype industry based on the continuous investment. Since 2020, the company has been operating CMF LAB, a design trend exhibition space that introduces the latest industrial design trends and displays cases of product application of various materials. This year, it published the CMF Application Book where CMF information can be easily accessed, and also launched a CMF consulting project, expanding to its business scope.
